A DJ mixer has multiple music source input that can be mixed simultaneously. However, it is heavy, bulky and requires professional skill to control. In addition, it does not produce echo effects for karaoke singing. On the other hand, a karaoke mixer has built-in echo effect processor and key control. It is compact and easy to use. However, it has only one music input that can be selected at a time while a DJ mixer has multiple music input or selection. Depending on your needs, you may select either a DJ mixer or karaoke mixer. You may also use both at the same time. However, you need professional skill and experience to operate both mixers at the same time.
