Designed to fill the room with deep, powerful bass essentials, the Pioneer SW-10 Powered Subwoofer conveys the weight and realism contained in dynamic music and soundtracks.
Depth of Sound Engineered from the ground up
The SW-10 Powered Subwoofer features a 10” long-throw down-firing woofer housed in a vented and stylish enclosure to improve transient response. Using a wide rubber surround rather than a more cost effective foam surround, the SW-10 achieves far better excursion of the cone that provides more bass response in a smaller cabinet. Plus, rubber does not degrade over time like foam so the bass driver provides consistent bass response longer, ensuring your woofer performs superlatively for the entire life of your home entertainment system.
BASH® Amplification
The SW-10 features a frequency range between 30 Hz–150 Hz with a maximum output power of 400W* at its peak. Key to its powerful sound is the dedicated, built-in BASH (Bridged Amplifier Switching Hybrid) high-voltage amplifier. BASH amplifiers, introduced in the mid 1990s as a “best of both worlds” solution for subwoofer amplification, combine the sound quality of Class AB with the efficiency of a Class D amplifier. While a Class AB amp uses fixed supply voltage regardless of input signal, BASH uses a Class D amplifier with power supply modulation to track the input signal, supplying only the necessary voltage to the Class AB amp as needed.
